Compatibility of the door control units must be checked: there are 3 different hardware versions of the door control units (Lowline "3" - Midline "5" - Highline "7") required for "folding exterior mirrors" is Midline or Highline
To determine if you have the right door control units, the part number must be read out by diagnostics
Example part number: XX0 959? 9X + index letter such as A, B, C
the location of the ? "Question mark" is crucial
? = 3 = not compatible - door control unit must be replaced
? = 5 = compatible for retrofitting "folding exterior mirrors"
? = 7 = compatible for retrofitting "folding exterior mirrors"
e.g. 4M0959793X / 4M0959792X are suitable, 4M0959393X / 4M0959392X are to be replaced
